I agree with all your points. I think it's especially important to have a lesson planned well enough that you can contract it to as short as 20 minutes and expand it to 45 minutes. It's really not that difficult to do.</description>

The thing that I always regretted was when there were topics that were worth talking about in church but not covered in any of the lessons because it's a same to have a good discussion shut down. 

And admittedly, when the lesson sucked, I was delighted when people would start arguing about inane, irrelevant, unimportant things and completely hijack the lesson.</description>
