I’d definitely endure advertising for that. Like I said, Launchcast’s rating system was pretty good that way, and their advertising wasn’t too annoying. Any site that could give me both a graded rating system and a better match between what I rate highly and what I hear frequently would score major points with me.

Would you be willing to pay or endure advertising for a station that let you say “I could hear this song daily”, “I could hear this song x times a week” and “I could hear this song once a week.”

It isn’t just RedBox who are guilty of forcing automation like this on us, even our local dime store has an automated checkout where we are supposed to swipe the goods through ourselves, and queues are now three times as long as they used to be. Like Redbox they are just trying to cut costs but a lot of us hate it enough to go elsewhere where we can be served by real live humans.

This has been a pet peeve of mine for awhile. I once went to a machine just to return a movie. There were three people in front of me, all of whom were browsing. All I wanted to do was return a movie. Once, I reserved a movie at a location that had two RedBox machines. The machine with the reservation was the only one with a person at it and she was browsing. RedBox needs to do a better job advertising (and encouraging) online reservations. They also need to make machines with an extra slot for returning movies only.

Wow that sounds annoying. I pretty much never use redbox since I got charged twice somehow back when Ironman was new. And we still have a Blockbuster near us. But the redbox at our Smiths has a poster on it that if we reserve online we get a freebie.

Been there, done that. Thankfully there are plenty of locations around here but that doesn’t always help. The locations with two machines are lifesavers.

We have Netflix, but only the streaming so occasionally, I will grab a recent DVD release from Redbox. And all I can say is that I feel your pain — and share your rage.
