The First Day of Fall
Sunday, September 23rd, 2007Today Brinestone informed me that today is the first day of fall. She was excited because she loves fall. My response: “Oh sad.” She retorted, “Fall isn’t sad—winter is sad.” To which I replied, “Fall is the beginning of sadness.” She laughed and said that sounded deep. Maybe I’ll write a poem or something.
But what a fitting first day of fall it’s been—cold and grey and wet. Don’t forget your booties ’cause it’s cold out there today. It’s cold out there every day.
